About Us
Queen Bee Flower Farm is a small-scale farm nestled into the picturesque cottage country landscape of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Our cooler climate make conditions ideal for growing peonies, lilacs and hydrangea. In prime growing season, we grow popular annuals for bouquets, such as zinnia, cosmos, sweetpea, stock, dahlia, sunflowers, aster and other popular cut-flower varietals.
At Queen Bee, we are committed to sustainable farming practices. This means we use alternative methods to combat harmful insects and disease instead of spraying pesticides/herbicides. We respect the Earth and treat it with care so that it may continue to prosper for future generations to come.
Queen Bee Flower Farm respectfully acknowledges that we are situated on Mississauga lands and the traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work here and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land - for thousands of years. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples, both in shaping and strengthening this community and country as a whole. This recognition is connected to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our community.
